Erik Curren

Erik is co-founder of Transition Staunton Augusta and publisher of the online magazine Transition Voice, covering peak oil, climate change and the economy. He also serves as Managing Partner of Curren Media Group, an online marketing agency. Erik ran for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009. He earned a bachelor’s in English from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA, and a doctorate in English from the University of California at Irvine.

Lindsay Curren

Lindsay is co-founder of Transition Staunton Augusta. Formerly an online discussion moderator and producer with washingtonpost.com, specializing in politics, policy, and business, in 2009, she served as campaign manager and finance director during Erik’s run for Virginia delegate.  Lindsay is also the editor of the online magazine Transition Voice that covers peak oil, climate change and the economy. Lindsay also works as the Creative Director and Senior Writer for Curren Media Group.  She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University and attended the University of Virginia as part of its Citizen Scholar program (now Community Scholar Program). Holly Parker

Holly works as a nurse at the Birthing Suite at Augusta Health in Fishersville, VA. A Certified Permaculture Designer, she has informally studied permaculture since 1982. She earned a Master Gardener designation through Virginia Tech. She also built her own house on 20 acres in Augusta County where she runs an organic garden. Her house uses passive solar and an efficient masonry wood heater and Holly is planning to install panels as well.
