In the last 70 years, the hottest places to live and work in America were either big cities or their suburbs.
But in the economy of the future, where the action will be less global and more local, we think that the best places to live could be small cities.
Because Staunton and its area have so many valuable economic assets for a re-localized economy, we believe our area has what it takes to be the community of the future.
Back to the Future
Part of what might make Staunton a city of the future is its past — and how much of the good stuff from the last two centuries that we still have intact. From a working passenger rail station to a walkable downtown, these are assets that will help us thrive in a more localized future economy.
